A museum of archaeology contained inside the former convent Nossa Senhora da Assunção. The main exhibits include a gallery of 16th century Italian paintings, a 2,000-year-old Roman floor mosaic and a collection of Moorish oil lamps.
The Museu Munícipal Doctor José Formosinho exhibits items related to the history of Lagos, archaeology, minerals, painting and Algarve's ethnography and marine world. It displays Roman, Arab and Portuguese archaeological artefacts, decorative and artistic objects.
A collection of local costumes, traditional handicraft, carriages and papier-mâché figures are housed at the Museu Etnográfico do Trajo.
This archaeological museum exhibits a range of artefacts from the Prehistoric, Roman, Visigoth, Islamic and Modern periods. Guided tours are available.
The Cartão Algarve is a discount card that allows people to book events, tickets, accommodation and trips at tourist information offices. Information regarding payment and dates is stored on the card, which is then swiped to allow entry to the event or attraction.
