Most towns in the Algarve region of Portugal have a weekly market selling locally sourced fish, meat, fresh fruit, vegetables and flowers. Here is a selection of markets to get started.

Monday Algoz: Next to Junta de Freguesia - gipsy market selling hand-crafted items made of wicker, wood and ceramics, as well as household and dry goods. Second Monday of the month, 08:00-13:00
Aljezur: Next to Escola e Jardim-de Infâncias. Igreja Nova - general market. Third Monday of each month, 08:00-14:00
Barão de São Miguel: In the streets around the city centre - general market. First Monday of each month, 08:00-13:00
Portela da Corcha: In Santa Maria - general market. Fourth Monday of each month
Portimão: Parque de Feiras e Exposições de Portimão, Caldeira do Moinho - fresh vegetables, fruit, clothing, textiles, shoes and household items. First Monday of each month, 08:00-13:00
São Bartolomeu de Messines: In the market square between Rua Antonio Aleixo and Rua 1 Maio - gipsy market. Fourth Monday of each month
Silves: Largo da Fissul - fresh vegetables, fruit, clothing, textiles, shoes and household items. Third Monday of each month, 08:00-13:00
Vila do Bispo: In the market building behind the Café Zig Zag- fresh fruit, vegetables and fish. 09:00-13:00.
Tuesday Albufeira Weekly market: In Rua das Escolas - fresh vegetables, fruit, clothing, textiles, shoes and household items. First and third Tuesday of the month and 29 June (Saint Peter's Day), 09:00-14:00
Alvor: In Estrada da Torrealta - gipsy market selling hand-crafted items made of wicker, wood and ceramics, as well as household and dry goods. Second Tuesday of the month, 08:00-14:00
Caliços: First and third Tuesday of the month - small outdoor market
Ferreiras: 2nd and 4th Tuesdays - small outdoor market selling vegetables, fruit, clothing
Vila do Bispo: In the market building behind the Café Zig Zag- fresh fruit, vegetables and fish. 09:00-13:00.
Wednesday Quarteira: Fonte Santa, about 1 mile east of town on the Almancil road. 09:00-14:30
Raposeira: Next to the Primary school - fresh vegetables, fruit, clothing, textiles, shoes and household items. First Wednesday of the month, 09:00-14:00
Vila do Bispo: In the market building behind the Café Zig Zag- fresh fruit, vegetables and fish. 09:00-13:00.
Thursday Alte: Largo Jose Cavaco Vieira - general market. Third Thursday of each month, 08:00-14:00
Ameixial: Estrada Nacional 2 - fruit, vegetables, flowers, clothes, textiles and shoes. First Thursday of the month, 09:00-14:00
Azilheira: Close to the urban centre - general market. Held on the First Thursday of every month, 08:00-13:00
Boliqueime: In the town centre - gipsy market. Last Thursday of each month, 08:00-14:00
Fuzeta: Next to the Fuzeta camping park - gipsy market. First Thursday of every month, 08:00-13:00
Vaqueiros: Rua do Poço Novo. Fresh vegetables, fruit, clothing, textiles, shoes and household items. Every second Thursday of the month, 09:00-14:00
Vila do Bispo: In the market square - market selling hand-crafted items made of wicker, wood and ceramics, as well as household and dry goods. First Thursday of each month, 08:00-13:00
Friday Alcantarilha: In the streets around the city centre - fruit, vegetables, flowers, clothes, textiles and shoes. First Friday of the month, 09:00-14:00

Vila do Bispo Sagres: In Sagres - fresh vegetables, fruit, clothing, textiles, shoes and household items. First Friday of each month, 09:00-14:00
Saturday Alvor: Flea market First Saturday of each month. Located in area near the river. 08:00-18:00
Azinhal: Next to the Primary school - general market. Last Saturday of the month, 08:00-14:00
Benafim: Rua 25 Abril - general market. First Saturday of the month, 09:00-14:00
Caliços: Next to the bus terminal - flea market. Third Saturday of the month, 08:00-13:00
Castro Marim: 2nd Saturday of each month selling regional products, vegetables, fruit, dry clothing, footwear, confectionery and crafts. Located in the market area
Lagos: Beside the bus staion - weekly farmers' market. Saturdays 08:00-14:00
Lagos: In the municipal stadium - general market - first Saturday of the month
Loulé: In Cortelha - gipsy market selling hand-crafted items made of wicker, wood and ceramics, as well as household and dry goods. Second Saturday of the month, 08:00-14:00
Monte Gordo: Next to the Tourist Office - flea market. Fourth Saturday of the month from 10:00
Paderne: Rua Miguel Bombarda - fresh vegetables, fruit, clothing, textiles, shoes and household items. First Saturday of the month, 09:00-13:00
São Bras de Alportel: Rua Boaventura Passos - general market. 08:00-13:00
São Marcos da Serra: Sitio da Alagoa - general market. First Saturday of the month, 09:00-14:00
Tavira: In Rua Vale Carangueijo - Gipsy market. Third Saturday of the month, 09:00-13:00

Ferragudo: Baixa de Ferragudo - flea market. Second Sunday of the month, 08:00-13:00
Lagoa: In front of Fatacil - fresh vegetables, fruit, clothing, textiles, shoes and household items. Second Sunday of each month, 08:00-13:00
