Many of the cinemas in Portugal are located in large shopping centres and have multiple theatres showing different movies. Most cinemas show films in their original language with Portuguese subtitles and except for children's films, they are rarely dubbed. In general the cinema programme changes on Thursdays.
For comprehensive listings of movies showing in Portugal see 7arte. This cinema directory gives information and reviews on the latest films out in Portugal and allows a search by cinema or by film. The Cinemas.pt website (in Portuguese) provides online ticket purchase and seat selection for Lusomundo cinemas throughout Portugal.
Films are shown in their original language in Portugal unless otherwise stated in the programme. It is always a good idea to check the film's language with the Internet Movie Database, a complete resource where you can also find out more about the film, it's director, the actors and even read reviews and see what awards have been won.
